Good opening spells from Yoav Lebens and Yoni Fidler saw Nomads quickly two down, with Gav suporting his brother with an outstanding slip catch to remove Samson.

Meanwhile, Brett Simon was batting solidly on his way to an excellent 67, taking a particular liking to the bowling of Tony Wise. Charlie Sherrard was keeping things tight from one end, and the scoring rate slowed when Mark Landau was brought on at the other end. After Charlie had got through six overs, Grant Traub came on and the two left-armers picked up seven wickets between them in six overs, to collapse what had at one stage looked a decent platform for Nomads being bowled out for 130.This included an excellent catch in the deep from Yoav Lebens. Mark finished with 4-17, and Grant 3-7.

In reply, Mel Corin set about the bowling like a man who is making Aliyah this week. On 20 he got a little too excited and missed a straight one from Rafi Polantinsky. This brought Tony Wise to the crease to join Mark Landau, and the two put on a solid partnership of 94, to win the game with 9.5 overs to spare. Mark Landau finished on 44 n.o. off 66 balls, and Tony Wise on 47 n.o. off 70 balls.

All in all, an excellent performance from MAL in their first league game of the season.
