Grant Emotional On Holocaust Day

Chelsea manager Avram Grant helped steer his side to the final of the Champions League final on Wednesday night, and admitted feeling very emotional achieving it on Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Sinking to his knees at the full time whistle, he said: “It was not an easy day for me because it was Holocaust Day in my country and my grandfather was a victim.”

Grant’s father had to bury his father with his own hands, with Grant, who plans to visit Auschwitz on Thursday, adding: “My father is a survivor of the Holocaust. It puts it in some perspective. It wasn't easy but now it's a happy day.”
