Nyman is amongst a limited number of youth and junior triathletes chosen to gain experience from competing with the British elite athletes and will be given equal VIP treatment with an overnight stay at the Madejski Stadium Hotel and attendance at a Triathletes Civic Reception the night before the race. The event will also be televised for Channel 4.

Last week, Nyman won the U20 Rayleigh Aquathlon and finished second overall in the womens open competition. Amongst 90 female and male participants, she also claimed the fastest overall swim time. The race consisted of a 440-yard swim followed by a 5km run where Lara managed to retain her lead ahead of an athlete some two years her senior, whos currently ranked third in the county for 3000m track. Her win is all the more remarkable as she has only just returned to running having sustained an ankle injury in mid-October.
