Captain for the day Jack Glazer lost the toss and LMV were asked to bowl first.v Southgate got off to a flyer, due to some good batting and wayward bowling. At half way they had scored 55-1, the only wicket to fall being a run out by Cameron Miller.

The change of bowlers however managed to put the brakes on the bowling.
Particular mentions to the two debutants, Jake Glazer and Ben Werter, who both bowled very accurately. Jake took 1-9 in his four overs, whilst Ben took 3-10. There were also good figures for Josh Summerfield, who conceded only nine runs in his two overs, and Jamie Wise, who took 2-4. Jonathan Roskin also made a contribution, taking a good catch and running out one of the Southgate batsman.

In reply, LMV got off to a slow start and were always behind the rate. Jack Glazer and Miles Grundman batted for a long time, but after they retired none of the later batsmen were able to score quickly enough.

This was the youngest team the under 11s have ever fielded and with the majority of boys still at this age group next year we would hope for better results next season. Bookmark and Share
