Frimpong Charged By FA

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been charged with improper conduct following his 'Scum Yid' tweet last week.

The Ghanaian-born 20-year-old was responding to a tweet from a Tottenham Hotspur supporter who said he prayed the player would break his arms and legs.

The FA released a statement which on Tuesday, which read: "Arsenal's Emmanuel Frimpong has been charged under FA Rule E3 for improper conduct in relation to recent comments made on Twitter. The allegation is that Frimpong posted comments amounting to improper conduct and/or which brought the game into disrepute, which included a reference to ethnic origin, faith or race."

Arsenal responded to the charge, by saying: "We are aware of the FA charge. As previously stated, Emmanuel has been reminded of his responsibilities when representing the club.

"Emmanuel will respond to the charge by 27 July as requested."

On being charged, Frimpong tweeted on his account: "Just wanna say didn't even no the word is offensive as u hear it all the time but u live and learn from ur mistakes Have a gd afternoon." Bookmark and Share
