Three New Names On Maccabi Board

Maccabi GB Chairman Stuart Greenberg has announced the cooption of three new Directors who will join the Maccabi GB Board with immediate effect.

Michael Bibring is a keen sportsman who played football for Wingate & Finchley, as well as for many years in the Maccabi league. However, it was in the sport of cycling and the Triathlon that Michael represented Team GB at this summers' Maccabiah Games winning a gold and silver medal.

Appointed to the board of the MWB Group Plc in November 1998, he's strategically involved in the Company's hotel operations, Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin and is also a Partner in the Alternative Hotel Group, owners of the De Vere and Village Hotel brands. David Kyte was recently announced as the Head of the Maccabi GB Organising Committees for both the European Maccabi Games in July 2011, and the 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2013, and has been involved with the movement for over 30 years. A founder member of London Maccabi Lions and a founding trustee of London Maccabi Recreational Trust at Rowley Lane, as well as sitting as a trustee of the Maccabi Foundation here in Britain and also Maccabi World Union in Israel, he's been involved with the Maccabi movement for over 30 years. A veteran of the City having spent a career trading in securities and derivatives both on the London Stock Exchange and the LIFFE market, he founded the Kyte Group in 1985.

Gary Phillips is a Trustee of UJIA, Maccabi GB's principal sponsors, and has also served on the Maccabi Foundation Board for a number of years. Gary plays and enjoys tennis and golf and comes from a long line of community leaders steeped in Maccabi history. Gary is the son of Michael and has been a trustee on a number of Maccabi associated and affiliated boards. A qualified solicitor for over 25 years, he's continued the family tradition of helping and shaping Anglo Jewry.

Speaking about the appointments, Greenberg said: "2009 has been extremely positive for Maccabi GB as over 20,000 members of the community will have been engaged in our programmes and events. We also have a busy calendar of events planned for 2010 that includes the Community Sports Awards, Fourth Community Fun Run and JCC Maccabi Games.

"The appointment of these three new directors will strengthen the organisation and with their different attributes the future of Maccabi GB, and therefore our community, looks to be in great hands."
