Among the wide range of Jewish and general interest issues that readers may choose to raise with the Mayor of London are interfaith relations, housing and celebrating the Jewish contribution to the capital. Concern over the sharp increase in anti-Semitic incidents during the Gaza conflict is also likely to feature on the agenda.
Audience members will be selected to pose their questions by Maitlis, who told the Jewish News: "I'm delighted to be chairing the event at City Hall which promises to be fun and - possibly even enlightening."
Jewish News Editor Zeddy Lawrence said: "We are delighted to offer Jewish News readers this one-off opportunity to put their questions directly to the top man in London government."
"It promises to be a night when many of the most serious and pressing issues facing London Jewry and Londoners in general will be raised.
"Add to the mix the mayor's famed charisma and humour and you have all the makings of a highly engaging evening for all those present."
He added: "To ensure that you are among those in the audience for this unique occasion, please apply for tickets now as we expect all places to be snapped up within days."
Johnson said: "I look forward to welcoming readers of the Jewish News to City Hall in November for a lively and interesting meeting."
Foreign Secretary David Miliband, meanwhile, is set to field questions tonight during the second Jewish News Q&A session with a senior political figure. In April, Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg became the first to take the hot seat for such a session.
