Television: The Apprentice
Oh, how I laughed. Now a confirmed fan of the show, I’ve been tuning in to see the wannabes try their hand at tasks ranging from coming up with their own special occasion to inventing new flavours of ice cream. But last week topped the lot. Sent to Marrakech markets to put their haggling skills to the test, teams Alpha and Renaissance were presented with lists of products to source, one being a kosher chicken. If only self-proclaimed ‘nice Jewish boy’ Michael Sophocles knew what kosher actually meant, his team might not have landed themselves in such hot water.

Theatre: Betwixt
Fresh from starring as Serena Katz in Fame, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? semi-finalist Abi Finley has now stepped into her new role as Miranda in Betwixt at the King’s Head Theatre, Islington. The story of Betwixt evolves around fantasy novelist Bailey Howard and his roommate Cooper Fitzgerald as they are transported to the land of In-between. There they must rescue the kidnapped Prince Haydn and fulfil the land’s prophecy, all the while encountering strange creatures from the Nymph Queen to a singing disembodied head.

Film: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Steven Spielberg’s latest offering pits an older and wiser Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) against agents of the Soviet Union – led by Spalko (Cate Blanchett) – for a crystal skull. Set in 1957, the fourth film in the Indiana Jones film series sees Indy being aided by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), the greaser Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) and fellow archaeologist Mac (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also play fellow academics.
