Lions U13's Win In Nice
London Maccabi Lions U13’s took a break from their rigorous Watford Friendly League schedule to play in a five-team round robin in Nice, France on Sunday, and came back the winners’ medal.
Playing in a municipal stadium watched by over 300 fans, the Lions succeeded in winning all four matches, beating two teams from Nice, one from Montpelier and one from Paris, scoring a total of 13 goals in the process, and conceding just the two.Michael Kenley was the tournament's top scorer with six goals, Zac Skry scored three, Ethan Altman two, with Adam Arnold and Jamie Kutner also netting.
In 80 degrees heat, the local fans warmed to Lions flowing style of football often chanting the names on the back of their shirts and applauding the team as the final whistle in their last match confirmed them as tournament winners

**The Lions U10 side were also in action in France. Jordan Grundman scored in a 1-1 draw against Nice in their opening game, they lost their second 1-0 to Whetsonte, before demolishing Montpellier 7-0 in their final game – Callum Lee, Joel Citron (2), Jordan Grundman (2), Jonny Byre and Nathan Schindler all on target.
