London Senior Cup Second Round
Corinthian Casuals 1 Wingate & Finchely 3
Tuesday, 3 November, 2009
The hosts looked positive for much of the half and in the 37th minute Horton made a stupendous save as the south-west Londoners looked to double their lead. However, with three minutes to the break a corner kick in to the box was mishandled by home keeper Andy Wynn only for Frankie Webb to find the net in a goalmouth scramble to level the score.
The tables turned in the second half with the visitors taking the game in to the Corinthian half with David Laird, having found space, giving the Blues the lead from a Webb headed cross in the 54th minute. In the 64th minute a Chris Chase free-kick from thirty yards out crashed against the crossbar, and minutes later Leon Nelson was dismissed for a misdemeanour.
With ten minutes remaining substitute Leon Smith sewed up proceedings when he took the ball down the right, cut inside and found the target via a deflection from a defender, 3-1.
