There were just three games played in the Masters League this weekend, which included Lions A upsetting the Raiders in division one...

Division One
After dumping Lions A out of the Masters Cup last week, Faithfold continued to defy the odds as they caused a real upset with a 4-1 win over third-placed North London Raiders, to record only their second league win of the season.

A double from Darren Gurner, along with strikes from Paul Chilton and Manny Ezekiel scored for the Hoops, with Ashley Davidson netting Raiders' consolation.


Division Two
Glenthorne B dispatched Ashlodge 5-1, with Gary Adams grabbing all five for Glenthorne. Les Broude scored for Ashlodge.

And despite going behind to an early goal to Clayhall's Marc Schneiderman, Norstar came out on top to consolidate their second place spot. Simon Lawrence provided a quick equaliser for Norstar when he blasted home from 20 yards after being set up by David Coburn. Lee Cohen then put Norstar ahead with an unstoppable 30-yard shot, before Schneiderman scored his second for Clayhall to level things before the break.

The second half belonged to Norstar, and a penalty from Simon Lawrence and a low shot from Greg Bradman made it 4-2. Clayhall did win a late penalty but their opportunity to reduce the arrears was foiled by a magnificent save by Norstar 'keeper Howard Wallis, ensuring that Norstar secured the points.
