CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP – FIRST ROUND:

(NUMBER IN BRACKETS REPRESENTS CLUB’S DIVISION)

Brixton Old Boys (2) 8 Dynamo Hendon (4) 3 (AET)
Brixton ended up comprehensive victors here, though that didn't tell the whole story.

Jamie Bernstein, an Asaf Cohen penalty and Benjamin Peters scored for Jeremy Brown's side, though in the latter's opinion, the scoreline didn't reflect the way the game went.

Brown said: "We didnt play very well alot of the time, but until extra time the game was very even. "We just lost our legs and with no subs and a couple of players hobbling around the pitch it just got silly in the last 15 mins of the game, when we conceded five goals."

Dynamo were also without their new signings Spector, Patterson and Goldsmith due to the 14-day rule.

Chigwell Athletic C (4) 1 Oakwood EDRS A (P) 6
A man-of-the-match performance from Kane Swerner, in which he scored a hat-trick helped the O's to this sweeping win.

A Danny Cohen penalty, Bradley Sharp and Neil Marcus on his full debut completed the rout.

O's manager Gavin Stollar said: "Today was about character and getting back the winning habit and we achieved both with aplomb.

"Kane Swerner is carving out a real reputation for himself as a first rate goal scorer at the highest level and Bradley Sharp's thunderbolt left footer today was one for the scrap book. We go into next week full of confidence."
