FC MARYLEBONE (4) 2 CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI (3) 4 (AET)
Lester Jacobs' side scraped through this trick tie thanks to goals from Fred (Franco) Baresi, Adam Lewis, John Keller and Joel Isaacs.
Marylebone skipper Mikael Benguigui was managing the team for this tie and having found themselves 1-0 down at the break, saw his side deliver a great performance in the second half, with Benguigui goal equalising as he headed home from corner kick. The home side also had countless chances to kill the game off, including two shots which hit the crossbar.
However, the tie went into extra time and Marylebone quickly conceded three goals due to a lack of concentration. Benguigui headed in another to make the final score 4-2.
Benguigui acknowledged afterwards that his players had a good game but missed the chance to upset Catford in the second half. Recognising the quality in the squad, the Marylebone management believes that great things can be achieved this season with better confidence.

"Our midfield was excellent with each of Danny Potter, Jaime Millan and Mikey Stirton all performing superbly. But our man of the match was young winger Ben Goldsmith, who completely destroyed their left back, time and again.
"I cannot believe that we lost this game, but hey, that's football..."
