TEAM OF THE WEEK - WEEK 24

Brady won the all-division one clash, with Harmen captain Jonathan Hirshler's strike being a mere consolation.

FC TEAM A (2) 2 HENDON UNITED B (Prem) 1
Two goals from James Ryan - the winner being the final minutes - saw the division two side create an upset at the expense of their premier division opposition. Gav Noe had pulled the hornets level late in the first half.

Team joint-manager Jonny pearl told TJ: "We totally dominated the game from start to finish and were completely in control throughout. They only had two shots all game, of which one went in. We had so many chances and had we been more clinical, it would of had a much more comfortable score line.

"Special mention to James Ryan who cant stop scoring at the moment. In general, I was delighted with the performance against a premier division team, but still feel we have so much to give and are improving week by week."

NORTH WEST NEASDEN A (Prem) 9 BLIZZARD STORM (4) 0
This proved to be a cakewalk for the premier division champions as four goals from TJ Keterman helped set up this win.

Lee Cash, Mat Sofier, Darren Yarlett, Ben Ellis, Scott Shindler completed the scoring which also saw Neasden have Jon Ellis don the goalkeeping gloves.

Joint-manager Daniel Fox told TJ: "We're now looking forward to Manchester who will be a very diffrernt opposition."

REDBRIDGE A (Prem) 2 TEMPLE FORTUNE (2) 0
Redbridge put in a professional performance as they avoided any potential cup upset thanks to a Danny Hakimi strike and a Lewis Walker penalty.

Fortune's Mike Shorvon said: "We were absolutely superb and I think the scoreline flattered them. It was a magnificent performance. We missed a hatful of chances and I think it bodes well for the future that we can compete like that. I never come away happy when we lose but I was delighted with how we battled so hard against a Premier team."

Lee Fegan added: "I'm over the moon with second half performance in particular. Players listened to what was expected and we made it hard for a Premier team. I personally felt we could have come away with something with the chances we created. It was a good experience playing against a top team."

UPDATED PREMIER DIVISION TABLE

HENDON UNITED A 1 LONDON MACCABI LIONS A 1
Lions saw their winning run come to an end and it could have been even worse for them had Saul Conway not missed an 80th minute penalty. Ari Last scored for the home side, Joel Ross replied for the Lions.

Hendon manager David Garbacz told TJ: "We should have won today but unfortunately missed from the spot. Overall we deserved to win."

LONDON MACCABI LIONS B 2 SOUTH MANX A 3
The Manx, re-grouped, claimed their first win since the opening day of the season to join the Lions joint on seven points.

Jonny Haik scored twice for the Manx, with Kane Swerner also on target.

David Dinkin and Jonathan Green scored for the Lions, for whom joint-manager Gavin Stollar said: "We were poor today just not at the races. We'll bounce back though, we have good character and strength in depth. Well done to South Manx, they battled throughout."

BRIXTON OLD BOYS VS REDBRIDGE B 0-1/0-3
Redbridge got back to winning ways as they predictably picked up the six points against the division's bottom side.

Richard Caplin scored the only goal in the first game, before a double from James Taylor, along with Rob Gevertz's strike saw them to a more comfortable 3-0 win in the second game.

CAMDEN PARK 0 NL RAIDERS A 1
The Raiders maintained top spot as they recorded their second consecutive 1-0 win - and for the second consecutive week, Jonny Blain netted the all-important goal, this time heading in Nick Wiseman's cross.

Joint-manager Danny Caro told TJ: "Our second consecutive 1-0 away win came as a result of another resilient display. The match wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination as we weren't allowed the time and space to play our normal passing game, but at this stage of the season, the boys know that the result is all that matters."

Raiders joint-manager Adam Fegan told TJ: "We knew Sunday was going to be a very tough game. Camden are experienced, strong, physical and organised. The result was massive for us, and the points are far more important than the performance at this stage of the season. It was a very close game, and although Camden may have shaded the possession I felt we shaded the chances.

"Going into the match we were missing our center-back, our keeper and both our regular center-midfielders. However, the boys that came in were superb, especially Ben Sheldon in goal. There was some bad news however as James Fattal has broken his arm and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

"We now enjoy a two-week break from the league. Next week's cup game is not our priority and with so many injuries we are not really looking to take anything out of the game. If we can concede fewer than seven it represents progress on last season's cup meeting. But with so many players out I will just be looking forward to the final whistle so we can concentrate on the league."

Camden manager Justin Rockberger told TJ: "It was a very tight game of few chances, but I thought on the balance of play we deserved something out of it."

MONTANA BOCA A 1 NORTH WEST NEASDEN B 0
Montana not only boosted their own promotion charges, but also put a significant dent in Neasden's title hopes as Simon Peterman's strike settled the points for Montana here.

OAKWOOD VS RED SEA 4-0/2-1
Oakwood kept their promotion hopes on track as they took the six points on offer here.

The first victory was the most convincing of the two as Gary Bloch, Ian Tussie, Dan Ash and Dan Geey all found the back of the net.

The second game proved to be a closer affair and saw Ben Myers and Gary Bloch earn the Os the points.

FC TEAM B 3 FAITHFOLD B 1
Ben Simon's side fine run of recent form continues as they saw off a Faithfold side who are also looking to ease clear of the relegation zone.

Richard Salmon, Dom Berko and Adam Rones got on the scoresheet for Team, for whom manager Simon told TJ: "It was a solid performance, we dominated the majority of the game and came out deserved winners!"

HOLY MOUNT ZION 1 RAPID BANTA 1
A point which neither side would have wanted, but is what they will have to take from this game. David Natas scored for the hosts.

Adam Kaldor equalised for Banta in the 85th minute. Banta manager Ben Nathan told TJ: "It was an awful first half, we dominated the second and were unlucky not to win."

LONDON MACCABI LIONS C 2 SOUTHGATE HARMEN B 2
The Lions failed to capitalise on the Raiders slip-up as they too were held to a point.

Alex Cooper scored twice for the Lions, for whom manager Frank Steinberg told TJ: "We were behind twice so showed good character, but I was slightly disappointed with the quality of our overall play."

Dan Henig and Alex Hershman scored scored for Harmen, with manager Dan Sasto telling TJ: "It was an excellent hard-working performance from the whole team, the draw a fair result."

NL RAIDERS B 3 CHIGWELL 3
Chigwell's strong second half to the season continued as they held the leaders in this six-goal thriller.

The visitors went 1-0 up through a six-yard tap-in from Russell Becker, though the Radiers went into the break 2-1 up.

They were leading 3-1 with just 10 minutes to go, when a Russell Lawson header and a cooly slotted Doron Weinsten finish from a Darren Kay cross gave Chigwell what they felt was a deserved point.

Steve Bloom scored twice for the Raiders, with Jonny Hesselberg scoring their third goal.

Chigwell manager Richard Slater told TJ: "I'm proud of the lads today, after last week's shocker they gave the perfect and correct response to show how good the spirit is within the squad to bounce back.

"We dominated the game, and restricted the league leaders with four/five chances throughout the whole match.

"We're all gutted to have conceded such cheap goals and not to have come away with all three points. Everyone was superb."

FC MARYLEBONE 2 L'EQUIPE 0
L'Equipe's title hopes suffered another dent as goals from Jonathan Marrache and Matt West saw Marylebone to the three points - a victory which also saw them leapfrog L'Equipe in the process.

The visitors dominated the first 15 minutes with Jason Miller hitting the post, before Marylebone started putting the ball down and passing it around.

Defender Jon Davody headed the ball against L'Equipe's far post from close-range, from a Yaniv Ohana free-kick, before they went ahead on the half-hour mark when West tapped home from Marrache's cross.

After the break, Marylebone controlled the game with a solid back five despite L'Equipe's pressure. Manu Heymann earned a controversial penalty kick five minutes from time which was converted by Marrache to ensure the points were going to the home team.

Marylebone's Jonathan Davoody told TJ: "It was a good team effort by Marylebone in a very tight game. This is sweet revenge after the humilitation we suffered against the same team back in January. The clean sheet reinforces our position as one of the best defences in division three."

Mark Simons and Jeff Gotch scored for Montana.

Norstar manager Jonny Bunt told TJ: "It was a massive 2-1 win for the boys and deserved too, they don't really play football, unless you count american football!

"Having said that we scored both our goals from long throws by Josh Gaon.
