A game between two mid table sides was ultimately won by Jewventus' former goalkeeper in an exciting 3-2 win for the home team.

With Jewve fielding no recognised strikers, regular centre-back Adam Diamant was used as an emergency striker to partner wide man Dan Channing.

Jewve started very strongly attacking at will and defending what they had to with consummate ease. The early pressure paid off when a Daniel Blass in-swinging free-kick was headed home by one-goal-a-season man, Aron Taylor.

Jewves tails were up and they were playing like a side who could match anyone in the division. Another decent attack led to a penalty for the home team which veteran midfielder, Gabriel John, put away with his usual ease.

Hendon though were not to be totally outdone and scored a peach of a goal before the break. A quick attack down Jewve right side and the Hendon wide man bent home the goal with a great curling effort.

Half time came and the home team felt they were worthy leaders but knew that Hendon were tricky on the break. The second half started and true to prediction Hendon started well. Breaking quickly they continued to push for an equaliser.

Joint manager Gabriel John decided a change was necessary and brought on Reuben John and Natie Grossnass, thinking the fresh legs might give Jewve the edge.

It proved to be a telling change. Just after the substitutions Jewventus won a corner. A cheeky near post effort from John Senior could only be palmed away by the Hendon keeper and with his first touch the younger John smashed home from six yards.

Jewventus were now playing a bit and did not give Hendon the respect they deserved. With 15 minutes to go another trade mark counter from the away side, again down the right, and the Hendon player was in the box. With a beautiful pull back he completely wrong footed the Jewve keeper and Hendon were all of a sudden only a goal behind.

Jewventus had been given a wake up call, but held on to secure all three points.
